Holiday Smoothie Recipes

Ready or not, the holiday season is here! I say it every year, but wow did 2017 fly by. I feel like it was just summer- and in Austin, it was up until early November. Either way- summer or not- a smoothie will always be my favorite post-workout meal. There’s something about them that always makes me smile, whether that’s trying some new ingredients, or organizing the toppings in different patterns. There are so many different flavors to explore when blending foods together. Here, I’ve broken down my favorite fall & winter recipes to give you some fun new ideas for your next smoothie.

A Dash of Sweet Caroline's Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

-1 frozen banana

-1 scoop vanilla protein powder (my go to has been IdealFit Protein Powder)

-1 Tbsp chia seeds

-1 Tbsp ground flax seeds

-2 Tbsps pumpkin puree

-1/4 cup of carrot juice

-1/2 cup of almond milk

-toppings of choice (I used granola and banana)

Christmas Protein Smoothie

-1 frozen banana

-1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein (add 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder if you used vanilla)

-1 Tbsp ground flax seeds

-1 Tbsp chia seeds

-1 handful of spinach or kale (I prefer spinach because it’s less bitter)

-dash of cinnamon

-dash of nutmeg

-1 cup of almond milk

-toppings of choice (I used shaved coconut)
