Holiday Smoothie Recipes

Ready or not, the holiday season is here! I say it every year, but wow did 2017 fly by. I feel like it was just summer- and in Austin, it was up until early November. Either way- summer or not- a smoothie will always be my favorite post-workout meal. There’s something about them that always makes me smile, whether that’s trying some new ingredients, or organizing the toppings in different patterns.┬áThere are so many different flavors to explore when blending foods together. Here, I’ve broken down my favorite fall & winter recipes to give you some fun new ideas for your next smoothie.

A Dash of Sweet Caroline's Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

-1 frozen banana

-1 scoop vanilla protein powder (my go to has been IdealFit Protein Powder)

-1 Tbsp chia seeds

-1 Tbsp ground flax seeds

-2 Tbsps pumpkin puree

-1/4 cup of carrot juice

-1/2 cup of almond milk

-toppings of choice (I used granola and banana)

Christmas Protein Smoothie

-1 frozen banana

-1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein (add 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder if you used vanilla)

-1 Tbsp ground flax seeds

-1 Tbsp chia seeds

-1 handful of spinach or kale (I prefer spinach because it’s less bitter)

-dash of cinnamon

-dash of nutmeg

-1 cup of almond milk

-toppings of choice (I used shaved coconut)
